Biography

Robert J. Dickman, Sr. was born in New York City and was raised in the New York Metropolitan area and in Haworth, New Jersey. In high school, Bob was an all-state baseball and football player and went on to play baseball and football at Rutgers University. He lettered in baseball while at Rutgers and was drafted by the Houston Astros where he played professional baseball for four years in the Houston Astors minor league system. In 1967 he graduated from Rutgers University and attended the University of Florida College of Law, graduating in 1970. He began his career as an insurance defense attorney. In 1979, Bob founded this Law Firm and dedicated himself to the representing the citizens of Florida and elsewhere who had been injured by corporate negligence and medical malpractice. Bob has lectured throughout Florida in the areas of medical negligence, trial advocacy and children’s rights and served on the faculty of the University of Florida/Florida Bar Association joint program of Advanced Trial Advocacy. Mr. Dickman has tried over 150 jury trials to verdict and his courtroom skills and reputation are well regarded in the community and throughout Florida and the United States. He has represented families and children who have been victims of medical and other negligence throughout Florida, New York, Georgia, California and Michigan. He has argued over 75 appeals in the district courts and in the Florida Supreme Court. Bob has been affectionately married to Carole for 55 years and has two children, both of whom are attorneys, and five grandchildren.
